My first, most important job as an educator has been motherhood. Raising four children prepared me for many things in life.  It was my foundational education for patience, time management, creative solutions, compassion, organizational skills, and conflict resolution.  Although three of my children are now young adults and one is still a teenager, they continue to teach me valuable lessons everyday. 

I have taught professionally in higher education, and have completed a college teaching certificate program, and know that with educating comes continued learning.  An ongoing drive to be curious, discovering the latest research in one's discipline, networking in professional programs, being involved in one's community, and engaging with students are all ways that I learn and grow in my craft, and self-awareness as a person.
